About Speaker

International lecturer, traveller, writer, dyer, artist and curator Jenny Balfour Paul, author of three books on indigo and many other publications, is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Exeter University, Fellow and former Trustee of the Royal Geographical Society, Royal Asiatic Society and Explorers Club, and immediate past President of UK's Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers. Curating incudes being Consultant Curator for the Whitworth Art Gallery’s UK major 2017 touring exhibition ‘Indigo: a Blue to Dye For’; a partner in ‘Silk Road Connect’ for Yo Yo Ma’s 2009 Silk Road Connect Indigo Project; and consultant for documentary films and symposia including 'Indigo Sutra’ in Kolkata in 2017. Her collections are in major UK museums.
